Scope of Work

The Subiya Water Distribution Scheme (SWDS) will take distilled water from a desalination plant which will be constructed adjacent to the Subiya power station, blend the distilled water with brackish water to produce fresh water and supply the treated fresh water to distribution and to existing Water Distribution Complexes (WDCs) via new transmission pipelines.

The scheme will be implemented in two stages, Stage I and Stage II which will correspond to the increase in the production capacity of the desalination plant. Stage I will have a capacity to supply 61.3 million gallons of fresh water per day and this stage II will increase the capacity to 122.7 million gallon per day.

The works includes the following :-

-The construction of single 1200mm diameter iron fresh water pipeline from outside the boundary of Mutla High WDC to the boundary of West Funaitees WDC.

– Installation of air valves, washouts and isolation valves and construction of reinforced concrete chambers and thrust blocks.

– The Mutla High (E14) WDC to West Funaitees (E13) pipeline will be installed in a 20m wide reservation, which runs largely parallel to the 6th and 7th Ring Roads.
